B i o g r a p h y

Svetlana Savić (1971, Serbia) works as an Associate Professor and she is also the Chair of the Department for Composition at the Faculty of Music in Belgrade. She is involved in Interdisciplinary studies at University of Art in Belgrade from 2011.

Her compositions were commissioned for Belgrade Music Festival (BEMUS), International Review of Composers, Cello Fest, and many other festivals in Serbia, USA, Austria, Lithuania, Russia, Japan, South Africa, Namibia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, etc.

Svetlana Savic won “Stevan Mokranjac” prize for 2014. year.

Her articles were published in magazines such as The New Sound and The Third Program. From 2002. to 2006. she was a sound producer of The New Sound CD issues, member of the Board of Composers Association of Serbia (2004-2010), member of Sokoj Authors’ Council (2006-2014), member of the Artistic board of 12. International Review of Composers in Belgrade and Artistic director of 13. International Review of Composers.

Some of her more important compositions are “Poor Sad Don Juan’s Daughter” for soloists, female choir and electronics, “Re-versions” for ensemble, “Quincunx” for string orchestra, “Sustineo” for symphony orchestra, “Songs about Stars” for female choir and chamber orchestra, “Trapped” for women’s choir and electronics and “Sonnets” for female voice, violoncello, piano and electronics.
